A unique country where more than 40 million tourists travel every year - Thailand! Acquiring a travel visa to this country, famous for its Indian Ocean beaches, abundant daily life, parties, culture and cuisine, bustling and fun streets of the capital city of Bangkok, as well as other tourist areas, is a simple process. We will show you this way in this article.
Thailand Visa Types
You can realize your planned trip to Thailand by getting a Thai tourist visa. The reasons for applying for this type of visa can be tourism, visiting family or friends, business trip, medical examination or treatment, short-term study, exchange programs and many other non-permanent nuances. If you want to study in Thailand for a long time or work permanently in an institution located here, you can also apply for a Thai national visa if you have official invitation or acceptance letters from those educational and work institutions.
Thailand Tourist Visa
Single-entry and multiple-entry Thai visas are available. At the same time, you can apply for a short-term visa, which will cover only your first visit, or multiple-entry and long-term visa types. It varies depending on the purpose of your trip and the interval of your trip.
It should be noted that in most cases, Thai visas are issued to applicants for a period of 3 months.
Collection of Documents for Thailand Visa Application
When applying for a Thai visa, you must submit the following documents:
Original and copy of the first page of your foreign passport
Copies of your previous visas and entry-exit stamps, if applicable
A copy of your identity card
Reference from the place of work* and, if applicable, an extract from the salary card (for persons studying, a reference from the educational institution) Statement from the bank account in your name (Detailed information about the amount is mentioned below)
2 photos of you, size 3.5x4.5, on a white background
Airline reservations you make for your trip
Hotel reservations you made for your trip
Application form filled in English
If the visa is applied for a business visit rather than a tourist one, in this case, an official invitation letter related to that work, event or meeting
Documents marked with "*" must be submitted to the embassy in English. If you have obtained the original document in Azerbaijani rather than in English, in this case, each of these documents must be translated into English and certified by a notary and submitted to the embassy.
The amount in your bank account is based on the travel dates you have indicated, i.e. the length of your stay in Thailand, the price of the flight tickets and hotels you have booked, etc. varies depending. In general, it is recommended that you have at least 2,500-3,000 AZN in your bank account for a one-week trip (equivalent to Euros or US dollars). This amount should fully cover your travel plan. When calculating the amount, you can sum up the average daily cost of 60-70 dollars for each day you indicate that you will be staying in the country with the price of your ticket and hotel reservations and assume a little higher than the figure you received.
If you are an entrepreneur, you can submit the documents that will replace the certificate from the workplace (a copy of the TIN, a certificate issued by the Ministry of Taxes about your turnover) to the embassy. If you are not working, studying or in any case sponsoring another person to cover the costs of your trip, in this case a copy of that person's identity card, proof of employment (if self-employed, the documents listed above), proof of bank account and statement (this bank account can be both in your name and in the name of the sponsor), if you have a family bond, a document confirming this (for example, if it is a parent, your own birth certificate, if it is a brother or sister, both of your birth certificates, etc.) and a paper about sponsorship to the embassy must be submitted. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, in this case, if he is traveling alone, a copy of the permission document to leave the country from both parents or, if he is traveling with one of the parents, must also be submitted during the visa application.
It should be noted that even if you submit documents such as TIN, certificate of turnover from the Ministry of Taxes or sponsorship paper, permission paper, you must have each of these documents translated into English and certified by a notary.
Visa Procedure
The visa application is received by the Embassy of Thailand in Baku and the decision is made by the consul in the consular department of the embassy.
There is no need to make an appointment in advance to apply for a visa and submit documents. Reception days are accepted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays of every week between 14:00 and 16:00 (except official non-working days due to holidays). Personal presence is mandatory when handing over documents, but another person can come to hand over the passport. For this, the person must present the original of the applicant's identity card.
The visa result is usually available within 5 working days, and if the visa result is positive, the visa validity period is usually 3 months. Therefore, it is recommended to apply for a Thai visa at least 3 months before the date of travel.
The visa fee is 40 USD and is accepted in cash in dollars.
Thailand Visa Probability
Just as when applying for a visa at the embassy of any country, your chance of getting a visa in Thailand depends on the state of your profile. Your workplace and position should be normal, your monthly income should be in the standard salary range (in experience, visas have been issued to people with a monthly income of 300-500 AZN, there have been many cases), you should show enough money in your bank account to cover your entire trip, the nuances that bind you to the country (having property in your name) , the presence of family and children) and your travel history are factors that increase your chances of getting a Thailand visa. The Thai embassy is not considered a high-risk embassy for people with no previous travel history, i.e. no Schengen or other visa holders. In our experience, there were many applicants who got their first visas from this embassy. Of course, for this, all your other documents must be in order. Also, in any case, having your previous visas is one of the factors that increase your chances of getting a Thailand visa.
