The country of South America known for its oceanic beaches, geography and nature, culture and art, tango, fun life - Argentina. Each traveler who goes to this country, which is visited by about 10 million tourists every year, always finds more than expected. If you want to be one of these travelers, we will show you how to get an Argentina tourist visa in this article.

Argentina Visa Types

You can realize your planned trip to Argentina by obtaining an Argentina tourist visa. The reasons for applying for this type of visa can be tourism, visiting family or friends, business trip, medical examination or treatment, short-term study, exchange programs and many other non-permanent nuances. If you want to study long-term in Argentina (such as bachelor's, master's, doctorate, etc.) or work permanently in an institution located here, you can also apply for an Argentine national visa if you have official invitations or acceptance letters from those educational and work institutions.

Argentina Tourist Visa

Single-entry and multiple-entry Argentina visas are available. At the same time, you can apply for a short-term visa, which will cover only your first visit, or multiple-entry and long-term visa types. It varies depending on the purpose of your trip and the interval of your trip.

Collection of Documents for Argentina Visa Application

When applying for an Argentina visa, you must submit the following documents:

Original and copy of the first page of your foreign passport
Copies of your previous visas and entry-exit stamps, if applicable
A copy of your identity card
Reference from the place of work* and, if applicable, an extract from the salary card (for persons studying, a reference from the educational institution) Statement from the bank account in your name (Detailed information about the amount is mentioned below)
At least last 3 months bank statement in your name
2 photos of you in 4x4 size, on a white background
Airline reservations you make for your trip
Hotel reservations you made for your trip
Application form filled in English
If the visa is applied for a business visit rather than a tourist one, in this case, an official invitation letter related to that work, event or meeting

Documents marked with "*" must be submitted to the embassy in English. If you have obtained the original document in Azerbaijani rather than in English, in this case, each of these documents must be translated into English and certified by a notary and submitted to the embassy.

It should be noted that the applicant's name, surname and passport number must be mentioned in the references from the workplace and bank account to be submitted to the Argentine Embassy. Otherwise, the documents will not be accepted by the embassy.

The amount in your bank account is based on the travel dates you indicated, i.e. the length of your stay in Argentina, the price of the flight tickets and hotels you booked, etc. varies depending. In general, it is recommended that you have at least 4,000-5,000 AZN in your bank account for a one-week trip (equivalent to Euros or US dollars). This amount should fully cover your travel plan. When calculating the amount, you can sum up the average daily cost of 60-70 dollars for each day you indicate that you will be staying in the country with the price of your ticket and hotel reservations and assume a little higher than the figure you received.

If you are an entrepreneur, you can submit the documents that will replace the reference from the workplace (a copy of the TIN is sufficient) to the embassy. If you are not working, studying or in any case sponsoring another person to cover the costs of your trip, in this case a copy of that person's identity card, proof of employment (if self-employed, the documents listed above), proof of bank account and statement (this bank account it can be both in your name and in the name of the sponsor), if you have a family bond, a document confirming this (for example, if it is a parent, your own birth certificate, if it is a brother or sister, both of your birth certificates, etc.) and a paper about sponsorship to the embassy must be submitted. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, in this case, if he is traveling alone, a copy of the permission document to leave the country from both parents or, if he is traveling with one of the parents, must also be submitted during the visa application.

Note that even if you submit documents such as TIN or sponsorship paper, permission paper, you must have each of these documents translated into English and certified by a notary.

Visa Procedure

Citizens of Azerbaijan apply for a visa to the Argentine Embassy in Baku.

The visa fee is 150 USD. After the applicant submits his documents to the embassy, he is given a check for the payment of the visa fee. Basically, the applicant should make the payment of this check at the main building of the International Bank of Azerbaijan (67 Nizami St.) and present the receipt of the payment to the consulate on the same day.

7-10 days after the submission of documents, the applicant is contacted and an appointment is made for an interview at the consular department. Another 7-10 days after the interview, the documents are reviewed, and when the procedure is completed, the applicant is contacted, if the visa result is positive, a passport is required to affix the visa label. Affixing the visa sticker to the passport also takes another 2-3 working days. Therefore, the visa application should be made at least 45 days before the date of travel. If the travel date is less than 45 days away, the Argentine Embassy will not accept the documents.

Probability of Getting an Argentina Visa

Just as when applying for a visa at the embassy of any country, your chances of getting a visa in Argentina depend on the state of your profile. Your workplace and position should be normal, your monthly income should be in the standard salary range (in experience, visas have been issued to people with a monthly income of 300-500 AZN, there have been many cases), you should show enough money in your bank account to cover your entire trip, the nuances that bind you to the country (having property in your name) , the presence of your family and children) and your travel history are factors that increase your chances of getting an Argentina visa. The Argentine Embassy is not considered a high-risk embassy for persons with no prior travel history, i.e. no Schengen or other visa holders. In our experience, there were many applicants who got their first visas from this embassy. Of course, for this, all your other documents must be in order. Also, in any case, having previous visas is one of the factors that increase your chances of getting an Argentina visa.
