Since Germany is included in the list of Schengen countries, you can obtain this visa by applying for a Germany Schengen visa to realize your temporary trip. The reasons for applying for this type of visa can be tourism, visiting family or friends, business trip, buying a car, medical examination or treatment, hospitalization, short-term study, exchange programs and many other non-permanent nuances. If you wish to receive a long-term study (such as a bachelor's, master's, doctorate, etc.) in Germany lasting more than 90 days or to work permanently in an institution located in Germany, apply for a German national visa if you have official invitations or acceptance letters from those educational and work institutions. you can

To realize your short-term visit, you apply for the "visitor visa" type of the German Schengen visa. Note that a short-term visitor visa does not give you the right to live permanently in Germany, the visa is issued to you for your short-term visit.

There are single-entry and multiple-entry types of Germany Schengen visa. You can also apply for long-term visas, i.e. three-month, six-month, one-year, two-year or five-year visas. You can enter any Schengen country after obtaining a Germany Schengen visa. However, in any case, we definitely recommend that you make your first entry into the Schengen area from the country where you received your visa, that is, from Germany. Otherwise, if you try to enter the Schengen area with a German visa from another country, unless you mentioned it during your visa application, the border service of that country may turn you back and deny you entry. This experience has been experienced in some cases and therefore we recommend you to avoid this risk.

If you are applying for a German Schengen visa, you must indicate the maximum number of days you will stay in Germany during your trip.

The letter of invitation can be formal (in accordance with §§66-68 it is called a formal "Declaration of Undertaking") or informal. If the arrival of the original invitation letter to the applicant delays his visa procedure, it is possible to apply with a scanned version of the invitation letter. However, if the invitation letter is official, even if a scanned version of the letter is submitted during the visa application, the visa application center advises the original of the letter to be delivered to the applicant by mail before the date of travel, because the original of this document may be requested by the German border officer during the trip. The invitation letter is valid for 6 months from the date of signing. In general, it is recommended that you have at least AZN 3,000-5,000 in your bank account for a one-week trip (equivalent to Euros or US dollars). This amount should fully cover your travel plan. When calculating the amount, you can add the price of your ticket and hotel reservations to the average daily cost of 70-80 euros for each day you indicate that you will be staying in the Schengen area and assume a little higher than the figure you received.

If your expenses are covered by the person who invited you, this must be mentioned in the invitation letter. In this case, documents confirming the financial situation of that person (reference from the workplace, statement from the bank account for the last 3-6 months, etc.) must be submitted.

If you are an entrepreneur, you can submit the documents that will replace the certificate from the workplace (a copy of the TIN, a certificate issued by the Ministry of Taxes about your turnover, an extract from the register of your company) to the embassy. If you are not working, studying or in any case providing another personal sponsor to cover the costs of your trip, in this case a copy of that person's identity card, proof of employment (if self-employed, documents listed above), bank account statement and statement (this bank account it can be in your name or in the name of the sponsor), if you have a family bond, a document confirming this (for example, if it is your parents, your own birth certificate, if it is a brother or sister, both of your birth certificates, etc.) and a paper about sponsorship to the embassy must be submitted. The application for the German Schengen visa is made at the Visametric visa application center of the German Embassy. The decision on the visa is made by the consul in the consular department of the German Embassy in Baku.

If the application is made only between 8:30 and 12:00, no prior appointment is required, the applicant can submit his documents for visa application by waiting in line. For applications after 12:00, a visa appointment must be made in advance through the online system.

Visa application can be made no earlier than 6 months before the date of the trip. All applicants, except those exempt from fingerprinting, must be personally present when submitting documents. Applicants exempt from fingerprinting must provide a power of attorney to another person to submit the documents, and this power of attorney form is available on the Visametric website.

Persons exempt from fingerprinting are divided into the following groups:

Persons who have received a Schengen visa in the last 5 years and have a fingerprint in the system
Children under 12 years old
Persons who are physically unable to provide fingerprints;
Holders of a diplomatic or special passport and accredited to a diplomatic or consular post in Belgium
Diplomatic or consular personnel and their family members (spouse and dependent children) who will be assigned to an international organization with a German headquarters or representative office

The German Schengen visa process usually takes 5-15 working days (excluding official non-working days related to holidays) from the date of application.

When submitting the documents, a 35 euro visa fee, 24.5 euro (47 AZN) visa center service fee is paid. It is possible to pay this payment both in cash only with manat and by card. The manat equivalent of the visa fee is adjusted by the embassy according to the exchange rate of the day.

Chances of Getting a Germany Schengen Visa

german visitor visa

As with the visa application of any country, your chances of getting a visa in Germany depend on the state of your profile. Your workplace and position are normal, your monthly income is in the standard salary range or higher (in experience, there have been many cases of obtaining visas for people with a monthly income of 500-600 AZN), you have enough money in your bank account to cover your entire trip, the nuances that bind you to the country Availability (having property in your name, family and children) and a good travel history are factors that increase your chances of getting a Germany Schengen visa. Despite the existence of people who received their first Schengen visa from the German embassy, in most cases, we advise applicants to avoid making their first Schengen visa application to the German embassy, unless their profile indicators are at a high level (every one of the nuances listed above is in order and above the standards). It stands out as a risky choice for applicants with standard or sub-standard profiles. Having one or more Schengen visas before can significantly increase your chances of getting a visa from the German embassy.

During the guest visa, the fact that you are closely related to the person who invited you and that you submit documents confirming this to the embassy, as well as the correctness and completeness of the documents you provide about yourself and the person who invited you, have a positive effect on your chances of getting a visa.
