Switzerland is another beautiful country in Europe. A tourism country that has impressed the whole world with its nature and geography, mountains, lakes and many rare gems. Every year millions of people travel to this country and get unforgettable memories. In order for you to have these memories, the first condition is to have a Swiss Schengen visa. We will share all the information you will need in this article.
Swiss Visa Types
You can travel to Switzerland, which is included in the list of Schengen countries, using a Swiss Schengen visa. The reasons for applying for this type of visa can be tourism, visiting family or friends, business trip, medical examination or treatment, short-term study, exchange programs and many other non-permanent nuances. In Switzerland, where many of our young people have visited in recent years, those who want to receive long-term education (such as bachelor's, master's, doctorate, etc.) or work permanently in an institution located here, receive an official invitation or acceptance from those educational and work institutions. if they have letters, they can also apply for a Swiss national visa.
Switzerland Schengen Visa
Similar to other Schengen countries, the Swiss Schengen visa is available in single-entry and multiple-entry types. In any case, you can also apply for long-term visas, i.e. for three months, six months, one year, two years or five years. After obtaining a Swiss Schengen visa, it is possible to enter any Schengen country. However, in any case, we recommend that you make your first entry into the Schengen area from the country where you received your visa, i.e. Switzerland. Otherwise, if you try to enter the Schengen area with a Swiss visa from another country, if you do not mention it during your visa application, even if it is rare, it will become a problem for you, the border service of that country may turn you back and not allow you to enter the country. This experience has been experienced in some cases and therefore we advise you to avoid this risk.
If you are applying for a Swiss Schengen visa, you must indicate the maximum number of days you will stay in this country during your trip. Most visa applicants and travelers add Italy, France, Germany, Austria and other European countries to their tour plans in addition to Switzerland. Such cases are nuances that will not cause any problems in your visa application. It will be enough for you to apply for a visa at the Swiss Embassy, simply by indicating the country where you will stay most of the time during your general trip.

The amount in your bank account is based on the travel dates you have indicated, i.e. the length of your stay in Schengen, the price of the flight tickets and hotels you have booked, etc. varies depending. In general, it is recommended that you have at least AZN 3,000-5,000 in your bank account for a one-week trip (equivalent to Euros or US dollars). This amount should fully cover your travel plan. When calculating the amount, you can sum up the average daily cost of 70-80 euros for each day you indicate that you will stay in the Schengen area with the price of your ticket and hotel reservations, and expect a little higher than the figure you received.

If the applicant is under 18 years of age, in this case, if he is traveling alone, a copy of the permission document to leave the country from both parents or, if he is traveling with one of the parents, must also be submitted during the visa application.
It should be noted that even if you submit documents such as TIN, turnover certificate from the Ministry of Taxes, extract from the register of your company or sponsorship paper, permission paper, you must have each of these documents translated and certified into English by a notary.
Visa Procedure
To get a Swiss Schengen visa, apply to the Embassy of Switzerland in Azerbaijan. The decision on the visa is made by the consul in the consular department of the embassy.
Visa appointment for submission of documents is taken online from the following link:
The embassy does not accept documents without making an appointment to submit them. The visa application can be made no earlier than 6 months, and no later than 15 days before the date of the trip. Applicants must be personally present when submitting documents. Children under 12 do not need to attend in person or make an additional appointment for them.
The Schengen visa procedure may take 7-10 calendar days from the date of application.
Note that our experience shows that in the case of urgent business trips, it is possible to schedule an appointment earlier than the time specified in the system via email. In addition, in urgent cases like this, the visa response can be issued sooner than 7-10 calendar days (even 3 working days). However, the decision on this matter is entirely up to the consul.
Visa fee of 70 AZN must be paid in cash in national currency, i.e. in manat. The manat equivalent of the visa fee is adjusted by the embassy according to the exchange rate of the day.
Switzerland Schengen Visa Probability
Just as when applying for a visa at the embassy of any country, your chance of getting a visa in Switzerland depends on the state of your profile. Your workplace and position should be normal, your monthly income should be in the standard salary range and higher (in experience, visas have been obtained for people with a monthly income of 450-600 AZN, there have been many cases), you should show enough money in your bank account to cover your entire trip, the nuances that bind you to the country ( presence of property in your name, family and children) presence and travel history are factors that increase your chances of getting a Swiss Schengen visa. For those who have not previously held a Schengen visa, the Swiss embassy can be considered a relatively risky embassy. Unless the other nuances in your profile (listed above) are at a high level, if you have no travel history, it is risky to make your first Schengen visa application to the Swiss Embassy. In any case, having a previous Schengen visa is a factor that increases your chances of getting a visa from the Swiss embassy.
