The largest country on the South American continent, Brazil, visited by more than 10 million tourists every year, is famous all over the world for its geography, Atlantic Ocean coast, especially the unique beauty of the city of Rio de Janeiro, fun life and the statue of Jesus Christ, which is considered one of the new seven wonders of the world. Traveling to Brazil is one of the big dreams of many tourists. If you have such a dream, you know that the way to make it come true is through a Brazilian visa. You can find how to get this visa in the article.

Brazil Visa Types

You can realize your planned trip to Brazil by obtaining a Brazilian tourist visa. The reasons for applying for this type of visa can be tourism, visiting family or friends, business trip, medical examination or treatment, short-term study, exchange programs and many other non-permanent nuances. If you want to study long-term in Brazil (such as bachelor's, master's, doctorate, etc.) or work permanently in an institution located here, you can also apply for a Brazilian national visa if you have official invitations or acceptance letters from those educational and work institutions.

Brazil Tourist Visa

Single-entry and multiple-entry Brazilian visas are available. At the same time, you can apply for a short-term visa, which will cover only your first visit, or multiple-entry and long-term visa types. It varies depending on the purpose of your trip and the interval of your trip.

It should be noted that in most cases, Brazilian visas are issued to applicants for a period of one year and multiple entries.

Collection of Documents for Brazil Visa Application

When applying for a Brazilian visa, you must submit the following documents:

Original and copy of the first page of your foreign passport
Copies of your previous visas and entry-exit stamps, if applicable
A copy of your identity card
Reference from the place of work* and, if applicable, an extract from the salary card (for persons studying, a reference from the educational institution) Statement from the bank account in your name (Detailed information about the amount is mentioned below)
2 photos of you in 3x4 size, on a white background
Airline reservations you make for your trip
Hotel reservations you made for your trip
Application form filled in English
If the visa is applied for a business visit rather than a tourist one, in this case, an official invitation letter related to that work, event or meeting

Documents marked with "*" must be submitted to the embassy in English. If you have obtained the original document in Azerbaijani rather than in English, in this case, each of these documents must be translated into English and certified by a notary and submitted to the embassy.

The amount in your bank account is based on the travel dates you indicated, i.e. the length of your stay in Brazil, the price of the flight tickets and hotels you booked, etc. varies depending. In general, it is recommended that you have at least AZN 3,000-5,000 in your bank account for a one-week trip (equivalent to Euros or US dollars). This amount should fully cover your travel plan. When calculating the amount, you can sum up the average daily cost of 60-70 dollars for each day you indicate that you will be staying in the country with the price of your ticket and hotel reservations and assume a little higher than the figure you received.

If you are an entrepreneur, you can submit the documents that will replace the reference from the workplace (a copy of the TIN is sufficient) to the embassy. If you are not working, studying or in any case sponsoring another person to cover the costs of your trip, in this case a copy of that person's identity card, proof of employment (if self-employed, the documents listed above), proof of bank account and statement (this bank account it can be both in your name and in the name of the sponsor), if you have a family bond, a document confirming this (for example, if it is a parent, your own birth certificate, if it is a brother or sister, both of your birth certificates, etc.) and a paper about sponsorship to the embassy must be presented. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, in this case, if he is traveling alone, a copy of the permission document to leave the country from both parents or, if he is traveling with one of the parents, must also be submitted during the visa application.

Note that even if you submit documents such as TIN or sponsorship paper, permission paper, you must have each of these documents translated into English and certified by a notary.

Visa Procedure

An application for a Brazilian visa is made to the Embassy of Brazil in Baku. The decision is made by the consul in the consular department of the embassy.

For a tourist visa, it usually takes 3-5 working days for a visa response.

The visa fee is 152 AZN. After submitting his documents to the embassy, he is given a check for the visa fee. Basically, the applicant should make the payment of this check at the main building of the International Bank of Azerbaijan (67 Nizami St.) and present the receipt of the payment to the consulate on the same day.

Probability of Obtaining a Brazilian Visa

Just as when applying for a visa at the embassy of any country, your chances of getting a visa in Brazil depend on the state of your profile. Your workplace and position should be normal, your monthly income should be in the standard salary range (in experience there have been many cases of obtaining visas for people with monthly income in the range of 300-500 AZN), you should show enough money in your bank account to cover your entire trip, the nuances that bind you to the country (having property in your name) , the presence of your family and children) and your travel history are factors that increase your chances of getting a Brazilian visa. The Brazilian embassy is not considered a high-risk embassy for persons with no previous travel history, i.e. no Schengen or other visa holders. In our experience, there were many applicants who got their first visas from this embassy. Of course, for this, all your other documents must be in order. Also, in any case, having your previous visas is one of the factors that increase your chances of getting a Brazil visa.
