Situated in the heart of Europe, you will see the dazzling combination of historical and modern architectural styles in its cities, you can plan a trip to Lithuania, but if you do not have detailed information about the visa, it is not a problem. If you want to travel to Lithuania and see your work and experience great moments, you can apply for a Lithuanian business visa. When you apply for a business visa, you can read detailed information about the foreign visa and general visa procedure that you will need.

Lithuania Visa Types

You can apply for a Lithuaniahttps://vizam.az/en/lithuania-visa Schengen visa to realize your investment in Lithuania, which is located in the black of the Schengen countries. The reasons for applying for this visa can be tourism, visits to family or friends, workforce, medical examinations and examinations, short-term visits, exchange programs and many other non-permanent nuances. However, if you want to receive a long-term license (bakalavr, magistrate, doctorate, etc.) with a duration of more than 90 days in Lithuania and want to work permanently in a Lithuanian community, you can also apply for a Lithuanian national visa, as long as you have official and accepted qualifications from both tax and business provisions.

You apply for the "business visa" type of the Lithuanian Schengen visa to realize your short-term business trip. Note that a short-term business visa does not give you the right to work permanently in Lithuania, this visa is issued for your own business trip.

Lithuania Schengen Visa

As in other Schengen countries, there are single-entry and multiple-entry types of Lithuanian Schengen visa. At the same time, you can also apply for long-term visas, i.e. for three months, six months, one year, two years or five years. You can enter any Schengen country after obtaining a Lithuanian Schengen visa. However, in any case, we absolutely recommend that you make your first entry into the Schengen area from the country where you received your visa, i.e. Lithuania. Otherwise, if you try to enter the Schengen area with a Lithuanian visa from another country (especially Western European countries), the border service of that country may turn you back and not allow you to enter the country, unless you mention it during your visa application. This experience has been experienced in some cases and therefore we advise you to avoid this risk.

If you are applying for a Lithuanian Schengen visa, you must indicate the maximum number of days you will stay in Lithuania during your trip.

Collection of Documents for Lithuanian Schengen Visa Application

When applying for a Lithuanian Schengen visa, you must submit the following documents:

Original and copy of the first page of your foreign passport
Copies of your previous visas and entry-exit stamps, if applicable
A copy of your identity card
Reference from the place of work* and, if applicable, an extract from the salary card (for persons studying, a reference from the educational institution) Bank account statement and statement in your name (Amount is detailed below)
Copies of extracts* of properties in your name and a copy of your car's passport, if applicable

Hotel reservations you made for your trip
Schengen-compliant travel insurance that will fully cover your trip
Application form filled in English
A printed version of the document issued from the system on confirmation of appointment
A formal invitation letter for the business institution, event or meeting you are going to

Documents marked with "*" must be submitted to the embassy in English. If you have obtained the original document in Azerbaijani rather than in English, in this case, each of these documents must be translated into English and certified by a notary and submitted to the embassy.

The embassy accepts only the original invitation letter. The scanned version of the letter is not accepted by the embassy. The invitation letter must have the signature and seal of the institution that invited you. Also, on the invitation letter, the name of the invited person, that is, your name, and additionally, if possible, your date of birth, passport number, and travel dates must be mentioned. If your place of stay is organized by the institution that invited you, in this case, you may not include a hotel reservation in your documents if the address of your stay is mentioned in the invitation letter sent to you.

After your documents have been accepted, in any case, during your visa procedure, you may receive a call from the embassy and you may be asked to submit new documents. In some cases, during the visa procedure, the Lithuanian embassy requires applicants to purchase hotels they have booked and submit documents confirming this to the embassy.

The amount in your bank account is based on the travel dates you have indicated, i.e. the length of your stay in Schengen, the price of the flight tickets and hotels you have booked, etc. varies depending. In general, it is recommended that you have at least 2,000-4,000 AZN in your bank account for a one-week trip (equivalent to Euro or US dollars). This amount should fully cover your travel plan. When calculating the amount, you can add the price of your ticket and hotel reservations to the average daily cost of 60-70 euros for each day you indicate that you will be staying in the Schengen area and assume a little higher than the figure you received.

If your expenses are covered by the institution that invited you, this must be mentioned in the invitation letter. In this case, you can provide a statement from your bank account, but in any case it is advisable to show a small amount in your account in your name.

If you are an entrepreneur, you can submit the documents that will replace the certificate from the workplace (a copy of the TIN, a certificate issued by the Ministry of Taxes about your turnover, an extract from the register of your company) to the embassy. If you are not working, studying or in any case sponsoring another person to cover the costs of your trip, in this case a copy of that person's identity card, proof of employment (if self-employed, the documents listed above), proof of bank account and statement (this bank account it can be both in your name and in the name of the sponsor), if you have a family bond, a document confirming this (for example, if it is a parent, your own birth certificate, if it is a brother or sister, both of your birth certificates, etc.) and a paper about sponsorship to the embassy must be submitted. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, in this case, if he is traveling alone, a copy of the permission document to leave the country from both parents or, if he is traveling with one of the parents, must also be submitted during the visa application.

It should be noted that even if you submit documents such as TIN, turnover certificate from the Ministry of Taxes, extract from the register of your company or sponsorship paper, permission paper, you must have each of these documents translated and certified into English by a notary.

Visa Procedure

Applying for a Lithuanian visa is done at the consular department of the Lithuanian Embassy or at the Lithuanian VFS Global visa application center. It varies depending on your choice. The visa decision is made by the consul at the consular department of the Lithuanian embassy in Baku.

To submit the documents to the visa center, you need to call in advance and make an appointment at the visa center or the embassy itself. The visa center accepts documents from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 every day.

The visa application can be made no earlier than 6 months before the date of the trip, and personal presence during the application is mandatory. Children under the age of 12 do not need to be brought to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Lithuania, as their fingerprints are not taken (but in each case, a separate time should be taken for them, as the processing of the application takes time).

The Lithuanian Schengen visa procedure usually takes 10 calendar days (excluding official non-working days related to holidays) from the date of application.

When applying for a visa directly at the consulate, only a visa fee of 35 euros is paid. Payment is accepted only in cash and in euros. If the applicant applies to the visa center, an additional 15.9 euros (AZN 31) from 35 euros must be paid for the service fee of the visa center, and this payment is made on the spot when submitting the documents. The service fee of the visa center is accepted only in manat.

Note that there is no significant difference between applying for a visa directly to the embassy or to the visa center. It's just that when you try to make an appointment for a visa application at the Lithuanian embassy, the nearest appointment time is usually a week away, while the nearest appointment date at the visa center may be in the next day or two. Experience shows that in some cases, the answer to the visa application submitted to the embassy can be issued one or several days earlier than in other cases.

Probability of Obtaining a Lithuanian Schengen Visa

As with the visa application of any country, your chance of getting a visa in Lithuania depends on the state of your profile. Your workplace and position should be normal, your monthly income should be in the standard salary range (in experience, visas have been issued to people with a monthly income of 300-500 AZN, there have been many cases), you should show enough money in your bank account to cover your entire trip, the nuances that bind you to the country (having property in your name) , the presence of your family and children) and your travel history are factors that increase your chances of getting a Lithuanian Schengen visa. Our experience shows that the Lithuanian embassy is one of the embassies that repeatedly issued the first Schengen visa to people who did not have a Schengen visa before. That is, for those who have not had a visa before, the Lithuanian embassy is one of the embassies that will be considered relatively successful for visa application. When applying for a business visa, the official letter of invitation you will present can increase your chances of getting a visa. If the purpose and reason for the trip stated in your invitation letter is related to your field of work or if you have made similar business trips before, these nuances will have a positive impact on your profile.
