Any country in Europe can be considered an excellent destination for tourism. However, in the list of these countries, there are many factors that put Poland in the forefront both for our travelers and for world tourism. In addition to the capital Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk and many other cities, Poland's unique, specific architecture, natural beauty, culture and art are very successful in attracting tourists. In this article, you will be able to read detailed information about how you can go to Poland, which is on your travel list, and what you need to do when applying for a visa.

Poland Visa Types

Since Poland is among the Schengen countries, you can realize your planned short-term trip to this country by obtaining a Polish Schengen visa. The reasons for applying for this type of visa can be tourism, visiting family or friends, business trip, medical examination or treatment, short-term study, exchange programs and many other non-permanent nuances. Those who wish to study in Poland for a long-term period of more than 90 days (such as bachelor's, master's, doctoral studies, etc.) or to work permanently in an institution located in Poland can also apply for a Polish national visa if they have official invitations or acceptance letters from those educational and work institutions. they can.

Poland Schengen Visa

As in all Schengen countries, there are single-entry and multiple-entry types of the Polish Schengen visa. At the same time, you can also apply for long-term visas, i.e. for three months, six months, one year, two years or five years. You can enter any Schengen country after obtaining a Polish visa. However, in any case, we definitely recommend that you make your first entry into the Schengen area from the country where you received your visa, i.e. from Poland. Otherwise, if you try to enter the Schengen area with a Polish visa from another country (especially from Western European countries), the border service of that country may turn you back and not allow you to enter the country, unless you mention it during your visa application. This experience has been experienced in some cases and therefore we advise you to avoid this risk.

If you are applying for a Polish Schengen visa, you must indicate the maximum number of days you will stay in Poland during your trip. In most cases, people planning a trip to Poland add Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other European countries to their tour plans. Such cases are nuances that will not cause any problems in your visa application. It will be enough for you to apply for a visa at the Polish Embassy, simply by indicating Poland as the country where you will stay most of the time during your general trip.

Collection of Documents for Poland Schengen Visa Application

When applying for a Poland Schengen visa, you must submit the following documents:

Original and copy of the first page of your foreign passport
Copies of your previous visas and entry-exit stamps, if applicable
A copy of your identity card
Reference from the place of work* and, if applicable, an extract from the salary card (for persons studying, a reference from the educational institution) Statement from the bank account in your name Detailed information about the amount is mentioned below)
At least last 3 months bank statement in your name
A copy of your vehicle's passport and property statements, if any
Proof of your civil status (a copy of your marriage certificate if you are married, birth certificates if you have children under 18, or a divorce certificate if your marriage has broken down)
2 pieces of 3.5x4.5 size, biometric and your photo on a white background
Airline reservations you make for your trip
Hotel reservations you made for your trip
Schengen-compliant travel insurance that will fully cover your trip
Application form filled in English
A printed version of the document issued from the system on confirmation of appointment
If the visa is applied for a business visit rather than a tourist one, in this case, an official invitation letter related to that work, event or meeting

Documents marked with "*" must be submitted to the embassy in English. If you have obtained the original document in Azerbaijani rather than in English, in this case, each of these documents must be translated into English and certified by a notary and submitted to the embassy.

After your documents have been accepted, in any case, during your visa procedure, you may receive a call from the embassy and you may be asked to submit new documents. In some cases, it has been seen that during the visa procedure, the Polish embassy requires the applicants to purchase the hotels they have booked and submit the documents confirming this to the embassy.

The amount in your bank account is based on the travel dates you have indicated, i.e. the length of your stay in Schengen, the price of the flight tickets and hotels you have booked, etc. varies depending. In general, it is recommended that you have at least 2,000-4,000 AZN in your bank account for a one-week trip (equivalent to Euro or US dollars). This amount should fully cover your travel plan. When calculating the amount, you can sum up the average daily cost of 60-70 euros for each day you indicate that you will stay in the Schengen area with the price of your ticket and hotel reservations, and assume a little higher than the figure you received.

If you are an entrepreneur, you can submit the documents that will replace the certificate from the workplace (a copy of the TIN, a certificate issued by the Ministry of Taxes about your turnover, an extract from the register of your company) to the embassy. If you are not working, studying or in any case sponsoring another person to cover the costs of your trip, in this case a copy of that person's identity card, proof of employment (if self-employed, the documents listed above), proof of bank account and statement (this bank account can be both in your name and in the name of the sponsor), if you have a family bond, a document confirming this (for example, if it is a parent, your own birth certificate, if it is a brother or sister, both of your birth certificates, etc.) and a paper about sponsorship to the embassy must be submitted. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, in this case, if he is traveling alone, a copy of the permission document to leave the country from both parents or, if he is traveling with one of the parents, must also be submitted during the visa application.

It should be noted that even if you have submitted documents such as a certificate of circulation from the Ministry of Taxes, an extract from the register of your company or a sponsorship letter, a permission letter, you must have each of these documents translated and approved by a notary in English. A copy of the TIN that you will submit is sufficient.

Visa Procedure

The Polish visa application is made to the Embassy of Poland in Azerbaijan. The decision on the visa is made by the consul in the consular department of the embassy.

Appointments for a Polish visa are different from other Schengen countries. So, to make an appointment for a visa application, first of all, a suitable appointment date is selected in the consulate's system, and after this date is selected, the online application form is opened. That application form must be completed within 60 minutes, otherwise the appointment will be lost. Therefore, all the necessary information should be available before the appointment so that filling out the application form does not take long. After completing and confirming the application form, the scheduled date and the automatically scheduled appointment time appear on the last page. That is, the applicant can choose a suitable day from among the possible dates for the visa appointment, but the time will be automatically given by the system. In some cases, it is not possible to select a date for the appointment in the system. This means that there are currently no available appointment times. In such a case, you need to wait for space to open up in the system. These places are systematically opened 3 times a month, on the 10th, 20th, and 30th of every month (if these dates fall on non-working days, they can be opened a day earlier or a day later, it is advisable to check with the embassy in advance).

Advance appointment is required, otherwise documents will not be accepted. The visa application can be made no earlier than 6 months before the date of the trip. Personal attendance is mandatory when submitting documents, but children under 12 years of age do not need to attend the visa appointment.

Note that in some cases, especially during business trips, it may be possible to schedule an appointment earlier than the time indicated in the system. For this, the company in Poland should write an email or contact the Polish Embassy in Baku.

The Schengen visa procedure may take 7-10 days from the date of application.

The visa fee is 35 euros and can only be paid in cash and in euros when presenting the documents.

Poland Schengen Visa Probability

As when applying for a visa at the embassy of any country, your chance of getting a visa in Poland depends on the state of your profile. Your workplace and position should be normal, your monthly income should be in the standard salary range (in experience there have been many cases of obtaining visas for people with monthly income in the range of 300-500 AZN), you should show enough money in your bank account to cover your entire trip, the nuances that bind you to the country (having property in your name) , the presence of your family and children) and your travel history are factors that increase your chances of getting a Poland Schengen visa. Our experience shows that the Polish embassy is one of the embassies that repeatedly issued the first Schengen visa to people who did not have a Schengen visa before. That is, for those who did not have a visa before, the Polish embassy is one of the embassies that will be considered relatively successful for visa application. However, in any case, of course, the fact that you already have visas is a nuance that increases your chances of getting a Polish Schengen visa many times over.
